What is kripter.io?

kripter.io is a suite of communication tools that brings a range of different security and encryption technologies, engineered by us to work together securely, yet remain simple and easy to use for you.

Individuals concerned about privacy and looking to protect their families...Businesses worried about security or corporate spying... or Professionals from Healthcare & Finance to Legal & Governance are turning to kripter.io to help them secure there day-to-day communications.

With kripter.io users can send Instant Messages, Speak to other users, send and receive emails or transfer files easily using the latest encryption and security technologies.

Is kripter.io secure?

Given enough time and resources all systems and encryption can be broken, it comes down to engineering systems and process in a way that, the time and resources required to break the encryption becomes economically unavailable.

By default kripter.io systems utilise AES 256-bit Encryption but given the prospect of having to Brute-force the entire Keyspace:

AES permits the use of 256-bit keys. Breaking a symmetric 256-bit key by brute force requires 2128 times more computational power than a 128-bit key. 50 supercomputers that could check a billion billion (1018) AES keys per second (if such a device could ever be made) would, in theory, require about 3×1051 years to exhaust the 256-bit key space.

What information do we take from clients?

When setting up your account you need to provide us with basic information, such as you First, Last name and payment information. Others cannot see this information as the only thing used to identify your account is your Unique User ID also known as the UUID.

What information do we collect and how is this information used?

We do not collect or monitor any information outside the scope of our own systems, in order for us to maintain levels of security, service and performance.

What information do we NOT Collect?

Due to the nature and design of the kripter.io App and kripter.io services we do not collect information from your device or browser such as:
Your Geographical Location
Details of your device i.e. IMEI/MAC numbers.
The content of your communications
Type of communication, messages, voice or file transfer... all that can be seen by us is the encrypted stream. For this reason it may be difficult for us to diagnose or troubleshoot any localised connectivity issues you may face.

What information can we see regarding our clients

Only the information used to register for kripter.io services.

What personal information do we store – how long do we store this for.

Only the information used to register for kripter.io services is kept on our records. This information is held, until your account is either marked for deletion or after initial purchase of your account remains un-paid for 3 months, if so we will provide 30 days notice before all your records are permanently expunged from our systems.

Do we share any information with third parties?

We share fiscal accounting and taxation information with the relevant domestic bodies only.

Do we send information to third parties?

No – but speaking of Parties we do like to party :-)

Can we see the information clients give to us?

We can ONLY see the information you used to register the account.

What encryption do you use?

By default kripter.io systems utilise AES 256-bit Encryption. Are my emails and file transfer encrypted also?

Any email and attachments sent kripter.io-to-kripter.io travel internally on our own email servers and not out across the open internet. We maintain hard-disk encryption of these systems to protect our users against Data-At-Rest scenario. When sending emails to external mail servers we cannot guarantee that these mails will not be intercepted by a third party.

We strongly recommend users create their own Open PGP keys and expand their own kripter.io network to leverage the benefits of a Closed-Loop Email service.

Can I have an increased email mail box size?

Yes if you require additional email storage you can purchase simple Bolt-Ons and upgrades to your account with ease.

What happens when a message is deleted?

The encryption keys used are generated on your device and sent through a Peer-to-Peer connection to the other device. The messages, voice or media transferred goes though this exact same method and once deleted are un-recoverable.

What happens when an account is deleted?

If you select to delete your account all of the account details related to your UUID are immediately deleted and expunged from our systems and that UUID rendered unusable.

How does our site handle “do not track signals?”

We are not in the habit of tracking visitors to our website and handle “do not track signals” by not tracking.

Does our site allow third party behavioural tracking?

No, we are not in the habit of tracking visitors to our website.

Does kripter.io log my activities, such as when and how long I was online for and using which device?

Due to the nature and design of the kripter.io App and kripter.io services we do not and cannot collect information from your device or browser such as:

Does kripter.io log my movement using GPS?

Due to the nature and design of the kripter.io App and kripter.io services we do not and cannot collect information from your device or browser such as:

Type of communication, messages, voice or file transfer... all that can be seen by us is the encrypted stream.

Which information is required for making payments, does the payment gateway's privacy policy apply when making payments through their services?

Any information required when making card payments is dependent on the card processing merchant, we do not hold any of this information on our systems and we do not store credit card details.

Do we store payment information for clients?

No we do not hold this information on our systems, any details for card payment's will be subject to the terms and conditions of the respective merchant or the issuing bank.

Do you keep records of each clients payment methods and details of how they paid?

No we do not hold this information on our systems, any details for card payment's will be subject to the terms and conditions of the respective merchant or the issuing bank.

How long does it take for my account to get activated once registered?

Once you complete the online registration process your account is activated immediately, you can login straight away.

How long does it take for my account to get de-registered once requested?

If you select to delete your account all of the account details related to your UUID are immediately deleted and expunged from our systems and your UUID rendered unusable.

If I am late paying for my monthly service would I get any grace period before my username is disabled?

If your account remains un-paid for 3 months, we will provide 30 days notice before all your records are permanently expunged form our systems.

What payment gateways can I use?

We are constantly increasing the number of payment methods our customers can use to access kripter.io Services, please check our website for the latest information, or visit kripter.io.com/howtopay

Do you accept any other currency other than USD?

People from around the world use kripter.io and in order to keep our services as cost effective as possible, using USD allows us to accomplish this quicker, easier and cheaper.
You can make payments directly to our account, but please ensure that you make the equivalent USD payment including any local transfer or banking charges you may have to pay.

Will you require any ID from me at any point once registered?

The information we need to obtain from users who use our services is subject to change dependant on local regulatory requirements, please check our website for the latest information, or visit kripter.io

Do we send our users emails about our promotions, products, services?

No we do not send any such information to your kripter.io account, you can however sign up to our Not-so-Regular News letter to get the latest news and information from kripter.io.

Does kripter.io co-operate with any third party authorities?

We only deal with domestic bodies concerned with company registration and fiscal accounting aspects, anything else outside of this scope would need to be accompanied by an appropriate legal document.

What information would they be able to receive?

Depending on the scope of any Legal document and the requirement therein would dictate what information can be accessed. We can at most only give what we have, to see what information we have or can obtain please see the rest of the FAQ for further clarification or go to Help on your kripter.io Portal.

Do you keep records of any accounts that have been de-activated or shut down in full?

Only the information used to register for kripter.io services is kept on our records. This information is held, until your account is either marked for deletion or after initial purchase of your account remains un-paid for 3 months, if so we will provide 30 days notice before all your records are permanently expunged from our systems.

How long are my message conversations kept on my login before being deleted automatically?

We cannot automatically control the duration of retention for messages you have sent or received, as they reside only on the active device or session, this is purely down to your preference. Please note that once deleted any messages or call history are unrecoverable.

Once I use my Wipe feature on kripter.io will that delete all my conversations and call history also?

Yes, once the kripter.io PIN Failure Wipe & PIN Wipe functions are executed, all of your conversations, call history and settings are deleted from the device. If the Remote Wipe fucntion is executed from your kripter.io Portal the corresponding devices, conversations, call history and settings will be deleted from the device and the kripter.io account will be made un-useable until manually un-installed and re-installed on said device.

Can any of my calls or messages be interpreted or viewed/listened to by a third party or even an employee of yours?

The encryption keys used are generated on your device and sent through a Peer-to-Peer connection directly to the other device. The messages, voice or media transferred goes though this exact same method, all that can be seen by our system administrators is the encrypted stream.

If you feel you may be victim of a Man-In-Middle method of security circumvention, we strongly recommend you use the Fingerprint Verification process to thwart such attempts. However if you feel your device may have been compromised we recommend you immediately seek technical assistance.

What devices does kripter.io support?

kripter.io supports a range of Operating systems and Browsers, for the kripter.io App these include:
Android 5 Lollypop & above
Majority of modern Desktop and Tablet Browsers.
We highly recommend that your Operating System and any Malware Protection have the latest updates and patches applied and your web browser is the latest stable version.

Can I use a wireless Bluetooth headset or hands-free device?

Yes you can use any device that is compatible with your device.

If so is my communication compromised?

Whether or not Bluetooth devices can be snooped on during an active Paring remains ambiguous with the majority of analysts warning with the growing prevalence of Bluetooth-enabled equipment could start a trend in wireless scanning... We recommend if you are unsure – Air on the side of caution.

Who owns the data?

Typically any data residing on our systems would be regarded as ours.

How are users able to change their personal information?

Yes you can change various information from your kripter.io Portal simply go to https://kripter.io

How do I save pictures and files sent to me through kripter.io?

Pictures transferred though the messenger service will be placed into a received files folder on your device. If you require access to files whilst away form your regular device, we recommend you simply attach and resend these to your kripter.io email account.

How do I uninstall and reinstall kripter.io on my handset?

Simply use the Software removal features of your handset operating system, however we recommend you Logout from kripter.io before uninstalling, this will clean down any localised information.

How do I download kripter.io on my handset?

Simply go to the app store for your handset platform. The kripter.io App is currently available on the Google Play Store.

How much data/bandwith does kripter.io use?

Although kripter.io has been designed to be as data frugal as possible, due to the Peer-to-Peer nature the actual data bandwidth used will vary upon personal usage.

Do I incur roaming charges?

kripter.io requires Data (3G) or WiFi connection to function, so when travelling you may incur Data Roaming charges, however this is purely dependant on the terms and conditions between you and your Data/Network provider.

Will my kripter.io account ever be terminated due to non-usage?

We do not remove accounts for Non-Useage, however if after initial purchase of your account remains un-paid for 3 months, if so we will provide 30 days notice before all your records are permanently expunged from our systems.

How do I change my password if lost?

You will have to re-authenticate your identity and set a new password, please note that if you cannot successfully pass re-authentication your account will be unusable.

Is there a maximum number of contacts I can have?

Your device hardware will dictate the limit to the number of contacts you can have.
Regarding the kripter.io service, we have not tested the upper theoretical limits of our systems which can currently service several thousand users and support several hundred contacts per user.

Do you out source any services from third parties?

We own and operate our systems and have an in-house team of developers who work exclusively on kripter.io products and services. We do however work with third party Network Penetration testers and hackers to ensure our systems are resilient and up to date against current attack methods and techniques.

How many users per subscription?

The kripter.io platform has been engineered with security and privacy in mind, so currently only 1 user is allowed per Subscription, you can however install the kripter.io Application on multiple devices.
